SILVER LAKE OUTFITTERS located at 37 South Main St., is offering a FREE Bait Casting Class on June 3 at 3:30 - 4:30 PM. The class will be held at the Village of Perry Public Beach. Anyone interested should sign up at the store.
CANCER PREVENTION STUDY - By enrolling in the American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3), you can help us understand how to prevent cancer, which will save lives and create a world with more birthdays for everyone! Enrollment in CPS-3 will take place at: Relay for Life of Wyoming County June 9th from 3pm to 7 pm at the Perry High School Athletic Field. To qualify, you must be between the ages of 30 - 65, never have been diagnosed with cancer and willing to make a long term commitment to the study by completing a follow-up survey every few years for the next 20-30 years. HOMEOWNER'S OF DISTINCTION NOMINATIONS - 2012
Since 1997, the SLA has recognized, through The Homeowners of Distinction, those properties in the watershed district that have attractive yards and use soil holding plants, trees and shrubs that protect our lake from runoff and beautify our neighborhood. This is your opportunity to nominate the property around the lake that brings that special quality. Awards will be presented at the September 8th meeting of SLA. The winner receives a trophy and the alternates, a certificate of honorable mention. Check out the plaque at the Silver Lake Marina for past winners. Shake on the Lake", the 3 day Shakespeare festival at Silver Lake Public Beach, is scheduled for 7 PM, July 26 and 27 and 2 PM and & PM on July 28. Set up for the theater workshop and performances begins July 23.
According to New York State Dishwasher Detergent and Nutrient Runoff Law effective January 1, 2012 application of any fertilizer on lawns or non-agricultural turf is prohibited from December 1st until April 1st.
